Author in the news...'It's time to write a new chapter in your life'

An interview with Pippa Beecheno by Sarah Harris was featured in 'Career Mail', Daily Mail newspaper on 5th April 2018. The interview explored Pippa's beginnings as a writer, from the early days, working while her son was napping, through to finding an agent. Sarah covered Pippa's course with the Writer's Bureau and the importance of external feedback in developing her work.

Emma Stone is set to portray the tragic life of Rosemary Kennedy, who had learning disabilities and was subjected to a lobotomy in her twenties. Cut off from her family following the botched and horrific operation which left her unable to walk or talk, she wrote to them to try to re-establish contact in later life. The film explores the stigma and trauma inflicted on those with learning disabilities or mental illness in the 1940s.

Peter Jackson adds colour to World War One footage

Peter Jackson, Oscar-winning Director of The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, is making a documentary using previously archived World War One footage. The footage has been restored and hand-colorized. The aim is to engage fresh generations in history and provide an insight into the trauma and sacrifice that war entails. It will bring to life the humanity and suffering of those who lived through the conflict. The film will premiere at the London Film Festival then on the BBC.

2018: Centenary of Women's Suffrage

2018 marks the centenary of the Representation of the People Act, 1918, when all men over 21 years old and women with property over 30, were given the right to vote.
